Young girl looking for new life in new land! JOY NEEDS A FOSTER OR FOREVER HOME!!!! Name: Joy Best Guess for Breed: Lab and shepherd mix Best Guess for Age: 7 months as of May 2024 SEX: Female Approximate Weight: 21 lbs as of 5/3/24; she is still growing Gets Along With: Other dogs! She has not been seen with kids or cats but can be tested Currently Living at: Shelter in Kabul, Afghanistan; needs a foster or forever home in the DC area to get her freedom ride on a rescue flight here in early June! Joy is Looking For: Her forever home! This sweetie and her sister Adelle were lucky enough to be taken in by a rescue in Kabul. They both survived parvo and are now gorgeous young pups. They're doubly lucky because now they have a chance to come to the DC area on a rescue flight; they are extremely unlikely to find homes in Kabul. This is what they are looking for: Long sniffy walks, romps in the park, and all the adventures their new families can dream up. A bunch of toys to play with to see which they like best. The opportunity to make new pup and people pals. And - most of all - their own homes, where they know they're safe and loved and get lots of snuggles. The individual responsible for the dog you are interested in adopting - a position we call the “adoption coordinator” - will then set up a time to discuss your application over the telephone. The adoption coordinator will check your vet reference to make sure all current and past pets were kept up-to-date with their shots and medical care. The adoption coordinator will also set up a home visit with one of our trained volunteers.
